gpicsync does not run on Windows 7except as Administrator #116

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install gpicsync from your user account (provide administrator password when
requested)
2. double-click the icon (fails - no error message and nothing in the Event
Logs)
3. right-click the icon and select 'Run as Administrator' (works)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expect program to run. It does not.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

  GPicSync 1.29 on Windows 7 Professional SP1

Please provide any additional information below.

This is obviously a security issue. I tried setting security on ..\Program Files (x86)\GPicSync so that all Users have Modify access, but that did not resolve the problem

Hello,GPicSync shouldn't require admin rights (probably not the case in this
version then). It probably searches the configuration file "gpicsync.conf" in
/user/youruser/gpicsync.conf(if you copy your conf file there it should work).

I will make sure GpicSync uses %ALLUSERPROFILE% environnement variable (instead
of %USERPROFILE%) and I'll do a new build with that.

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks Francois. I copied the .conf file to my own user profile and GPicSync
starts up perfectly now.

Thanks for your feedback. I've just made a new test build here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/113646/gpicsync-1-30-alpha1.exe

I didn't have time to test it but normally:
- conf. file is now saved in ALLUSERSPROFILE (instead of USERPROFILE)so the
problem you reported should be resolved
- a warning pop up appears if no conf. file is found at launch
- option geonames should now be in unicode (better working for non english
character)

If you use this test version don't hesitate to report any problem/bug/etc.

Thanks.
