FR: can you enhance it with screen shot/capture? Some academic videos i study just like books. I wanna capture the screen at the same time, thanks #30

If using local video, using players like vlc or kvm ofcause there are hotkeys for screen capture;

yet it will be killing if i can use it together /w this plugin.

thanks

Hello,

I have the same use case. As a workaround, you can use Greenshot in addition to this plugin. You can capture the last region (shift + prtscr) and copy it directly to the clipboard ("Settings" -> "Destination" -> "Copy to clipboard").

Greenshot is not an obsidian plugin but it is great at doing the job.

Cheers!

This would be an extremely useful feature!

I would use the screenshot function as it would pair well with OmniSearch. OmniSearch uses the OCR plugin "Text Extractor" which can extract text from .png, .jpg, .jpeg. If it were possible to have even a screenshot function it would really help with my OmniSearch indexes!

i have to use desktop VLC player, with the parameters to take screen shot with filename - time series.png/jpg. the default one is using actual timestamp which is not good as sometimes the snapshots should follow the time series in video and NOT and actual timestamp.

what said is android VLC cant do so yet, only desktop win/linux VLC

text extractor performs worser than capture 2 text, however both use tesseract indeep

both this and the "extend media"? addon cant handle vlc, only mp4. so i'll better use VLC take snapshot in timeseries, then copy into obsidian and use OCR instead.

It can be added as described here, but unfortunately it only supports local videos.
