No I'm trying to make sense of the code, I realise that it's non-trivial to follow. For instance I can see the code that's intended to rewrite URLs in index.ts in https://github.com/julianharty/testing-heuristics/commit/91a5f286974005b6c2f05e3762d8bd9fff0b8f25 but don't know how it behaves.

I'll read a bit on what's involved for ejs, presumably the source is https://github.com/mde/ejs
