One comment: I did not apply the Cloudera recommended configuration for MariaDB/MySQL as it throws up errors and did not allow me to start the service.
[root@ip-10-0-0-30 ~]# systemctl restart mysql Job for mysql.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status mysql.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
I will continue without and dedicate efforts to this if needed.
