Thank you for sharing this. Looking forward to reading the book. I am also looking for resources to introduce basics of modelling, like for someone with only elementary mathematics and descriptive statistic background. I am stuck at fully understanding 'evaluation' of models - i can choose and run models, but I can't make sense out of results. I have been following your tidymodels book, videos and courses - which are all great resources, but still find many gaps. What will be a good resource to use kind of like modelling for dummies!

A couple resources that I like (and that have helped me!) about modeling and machine learning are ISLR and Applied Predictive Modeling.

Thank you Julia for these recommendations. Started reading Predicting Modelling and love it so far. So easy and accessible. I find ISL bit advance at times, but trying to follow.

thanks for insight on R

This book is great and will be my singular resource for text modeling. Thank you for collaborating on this project and sharing your knowledge and techniques.

pcheruiyot commented 2 years ago

Do you have any presentation on analysis of Likert scale data. I am a bit new to R and I am sure I will benefit from this book. Thanks

juliasilge commented 2 years ago

@pcheruiyot I personally don't but there are packages for analysis of Likert data such as likert and HH.

Is there a larger typeface version available for purchase? The copy I have on my desk is very hard for me to read.

juliasilge commented 1 year ago

@jjbrehm Not to my knowledge, no. The layout was made with the standard CRC LaTeX template so we didn't have much say in all that. I can try to pass on this feedback to CRC!

Thank you for your answer. It’s a pity.

I love your blog, and have purchased your TidyText book with David Robinson for all my RAs.
