Rafe and Rob and I have been talking and have come up with a different way to represent the problem records that might help users handle the multiple spreadsheets easier.
The summary report will be changed to provide data from multiple sources in one HTML file. We will keep the first two sections of the Summary Report (The heading summary and the "Reconciled Data" Summary). We will replace the "Problem Records" portion. The problem records in the new summary file will have the reconciled outputs with their associated transcriptions. The transcriptions are collapsible so the user will first see the reconciled output and the reason they are flagged and then will be able to then open and look through the transcriptions.
The problem fields will be flagged in a visible way. Possibly with a background color change. You should also be able to filter the rows so that you only see the problem records or the problem records for a particular column. The explanations will either be visible with a mouse-over or a as a separate row.
In this new format the users have data from three of the output files easily accessible for the records that most likely need to be checked. This will reduce the amount of time needed as users will not have to look through multiple spreadsheets.
