Human-machine coordination mode ? #28

Hello, Thank you very much for your work. It has been very helpful to me. However, I have a question that requires your assistance.I know that some research on MATB has mentioned the existence of a mode that is between manual and automatic, such as the human-machine coordination mode. I want to know if OpenMATB can achieve this mode, and if so, how can I implement it? Looking forward to your reply.

Hi @wenni888, do you have access to such papers so I could understand a bit further what you mean by "human-machine coordination mode". Or maybe you could just describe this mode and what would happen with it? Thanks for your interest.

Hi Juliencegarra,

I am very pleased to receive your reply. I have an article here which discusses the four modes of OpenMATB - manual control mode, assisted control mode, cooperative control mode, and supervisory control mode (also known as automatic mode). I have attached the article under the e-mail. In page 3 'C. Automation solution,' the running modes of each kind are described in detail. The article discribed it as follows:  In the assisted control condition, automation warned participants when an event required an intervention. For the tracking task, the color of the target changed (from blue to red) whe n a correction was needed. For the monitoring task, the color of the pointer changed (from blue to red) when a pointer froze. In the resources task, in case of an improper level of liquid, the color of the broken valve (responsible of the improper level of liquid) changed (from blue to red).

In the cooperative control condition, automation physically cooperated with participants to the task control. During the tracking task, when the target moved out of the central position the target, any action on the joystick toward the central position, will ensure a safe return of that position. In the monitoring task, when a pointer froze pressing the space bar will solve the event whatever the scale. For the resource management task, in case of an improper level of liquid, the color of the best valve to unlock changed (from blue to yellow).

I hope to implement different automation modes with this knowledge. Thank you very much for your help and reply. I look forward to your next correspondence.
