I like this idea! I think you could definitely find some interesting relationships. Something I would keep in mind is that migration is also affected by a wide variety of factors other than climate change such as politics, conflict, and job opportunities. To isolate the relationship between climate change and migration, you will probably have to adjust for these other factors somehow.
