This is actually not a bug regarding the find command! As long as the number of contacts displayed does not take up the full application panel, there would be this reflection of the contact box. This is purely cosmetic and was intended as part of our UI since we thought it looked nicer!

Below the fade, one can see another box. This bug randomly appeared while deleting one of the contacts with time and group. This might create an impression that there is still data available.
