It would be nice to have the ability to scan a QR code containing a text
string as a password instead of entering it textually.

This is the same as writing your password down, because everybody can scan the 
QR
code. Not exactly safe! Better use a public/private key pair for authentication!

I'm not going to implement this. It is a novel idea, though.
