TrackIR firmware notable to be installed #86

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.iMac 27"
2.OS X 10.9.5
3.Trying to install firmware from ltr_gui in Linuxtrack GUI vol.99.12

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TrackIR 5

Please provide any additional information below.
I have downloaded your MACOSX Package and opened the ltr_gui file. It reports
the TrackIR device was found but I don't have the firmware installed. When I
click ok I then get the window for Linuxtrack GUI vol.99.12 showing the tabs
across the top. When I go to the MISC tab I can install the X-plane plugin but
not the TrackIR firmware as it is taking me to the Naturalpoint website to
download one of their firmware.exe files (see attached screenshot). I am also
not getting a light on the TrackIR device that sits on the top on the monitor
when plugged into the USB port and when X-plane loads. I'm assuming thats
because their is no firmware installed

Hello,

what you describe is quite normal - without firmware the TrackIR won't work;
the only thing is, that on the Extractor screen you are supposed to press the
download button, which will download the firmware and extract the necessary
bits... If you don't have internet connection, you can download the file
elsewhere and use the "Extract from installer" button to get it installed.

Kind regards,

Michal

Thanks Michal
My issue is that on a Mac you can't work with a .exe file extension. How do i
get around that?

Don't worry, there is a wine inside the ltr_gui package, which takes care of
that...

Kind regards,

Michal

Hi Michal
I just wanted to say thank you for your guidance with getting TrackIR to work
on my iMac. Once I used the Wine in the ltr-gui it solved the .exe installation
problem. I've tweaked the settings a bit and really happy how this program
works on an iMac
Regards Gary
