Addition of a string class / library. #242

What change would like to see?

A string class or library. 

Why?

To make it easier to parse data coming from the serial port, accumulate data to 
send to it, etc.

This seems really useful, so I'm moving it up.  Also, that will give us a 
chance to try it out before 1.0, so we can make changes if needed.
