Any vertex moved to left of 1st vertex crashes din #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Move any vertex to left of first vertex and din crashes.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

din should recover gracefully, not crash. No vertex should be allowed to go
left of first vertex.

Old issue opened to test issues. This bug is long fixed now.
