Merge Benjamin Marzinski's patches #18

Ben posted some very nice patches in late November/early December
that, among other things, gets rid of the symbol exports 
in ddsnap.base.patch.  We should merge them.

7 patches merged to add support for 2.6.23.8, which did not breake 2.6.22.10 
build at
least, but 2.6.23.8 kernel is not tested yet.  Deferred to 0.6 because 2.6.32.8
support was not a release criterion for 0.5 as far as I know.  

Two of Ben's patches still not merged, the ones that remove of exports for sys_*
network interfaces and use internal network interfaces instead, getting rid of a
bunch of messy, error prone fd handling code and getting rid of those exports 
that
nobody in their right mind should ever export if they want to push things 
upstream. 
Probably will merge just the patch that changes the kernel to use the internal
interfaces, and defer the patch that removes the exports until we drop support 
for
2.6.21 and 2.6.22 kernels.
