Clarification question: Are you looking to replace existing bus stop signs, or create a supplemental schedule piece to be added onto sign posts?
@jennypark supplemental - many stops, especially on the edges, currently have no route or schedule information whatever, merely indicating that it's a bus stop, like this:
Just for brain-storming/idea-generation, here's a concept I threw together one evening for a more informative sign for Austin. We can probably provide more detail from the GTFS. This idea was for a more permanent signage and lacked detail on purpose so that it wouldn't have to change every time there were minor schedule adjustment.
As an enthusiastic bus rider, I want to print signs to improve the access to information and ability of people to use the bus system from my stop which currently lacks this information.
For easy printing, the sign should fit on a single 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
The sign layout should accommodate 1 or 2 bus lines. The lines should be clearly identified and schedule information should be included. Room for a bus stop ID should also be included.
