Fixes some issues from #88

• Avoids float64 dtype for buffer attribute data in superellipsoid example
• Fixes index attribute for plain buffer geometries
• Fixes an encoding issue for python 2 in traits.py

Also fixed a race condition during autogeneration of python files that were affecting fresh installs.
