Speaker Tickets and Accommodation Suggestions #7

Open RRosio opened 1 year ago

Hello, as was suggested in email communications, I am adding some questions about JupyterCon 2023 in this issue.

  1. Should speakers purchase tickets for the conference? If that is not the case and tickets will be provided for speakers, would there be a limit to the number of speakers who could receive a ticket for one talk? For example, in cases where there may be four speakers presenting one talk?

  2. Are there any local organizers who would be willing to provide some suggestions about hotels for accommodations? It would be much appreciated to hear some advice and opinions of locals. It would also be nice to stay at a hotel alongside other JupyterCon attendees.

We should have send yesterday a link to accepted proposal to get a free ticket. The free ticket is limited to one speaker per proposal.

If you need more than one free ticket, you can apply to financial aid.

I believe @gollington is working on this ?

Any updates re hotel discounts / recommendations?

Carreau commented 1 year ago

I found this page, but it does not seem to be linked from the other pages, or referenced anywhere:

https://www.jupytercon.com/hotels

I'm not sure it is completely finished as it basically list all hotels in paris, though some of them seem to have a discount applied.
