500: Internal Server error (rstudio could not start in time) #1450

I'm trying to launch this R repo with these config files on mybinder.org, using the follow link: Binder

The image seems to build successfully, but when the environment launches, an error is displayed that reads:

500: Internal Server error (rstudio could not start in time)

These same config files still worked a couple months ago, and they work fine when using repo2docker on my local machine with the exact same repo. Any idea what could be the cause of this, or if there's anything I could do to remedy it?
