On the 2023-09-20 JupyterLab call, a self-identified AI call summarization bot joined the meeting. We presumed that it was recording the entire meeting, including the "off-the-record" portions that we do not share on YouTube. The consensus was to kick the bot, which we did, but there is no written policy setting an expectation.
Proposed Solution
Update the web site, calendar invites, meeting notes, or other artifacts to request that people not record our Zoom meetings on their own; we record and publish the meetings ourselves, reserving time for off-the-record chats.
Additional context
The bot on 2023-09-20 was fireflies.ai. Zoom itself may capture data about meetings for AI model training purposes; we have no control over that, and this should not justify individual attendees recording meetings for their own use.
