Crash #400

Open derrgoo opened 3 years ago

derrgoo commented 3 years ago

I have checked logs there is nothing and it doesn't give error. Just crashes. I think I have tested several things for what is causing this when you open horizon. It seems to be the widgets loading at the same time PVR is loading. Maybe somehow to delay PVR from loading so widgets can catch up. I am using a firestick 4K. I use one add on and PVR so very light build. Thank you

Need exact steps to replicate as I don't experience this crash.

I have created a snap shot vid of exactly my procedure.

I am on Matrix 19.

No I don't mean a video of the crash. I mean what exact settings do you use that will reproduce the crash. How can I make this crash happen on my machine so that I'm able to fix it. If I can't reproduce it, I can't fix it - so I need to know how to make it happen.

I use vertical menu with 5 sections. One add on Seren Matrix.

Sections - TV - Two widgets Trakt Next Up, Watchlist Movies - Trakt Watchlist. Finish Watching, Marvel Section from Seren IPTV PVR Favorites- Nothing in side Add ons - Seren, The Movie Db Helper, Youtube, Plex add on

Skin Settings are all on standard settings out of a clean install.

I thought maybe it happened on one of my firesticks but have tested on all 5 of them and they produce same. After 3-4 times trying to start I usually now start and quickly change to estuary and the skin shortcuts updates and then I can return to Horizon.

I also use it on my Mac Pro Laptop and I get an error. Posted below EDIT by jurialmunkey please post logs as files or via a paste site - I've copied your log here: https://paste.kodi.tv/oqumofuvut

Your Mac log isn't much use but a proper kodi.log of the crash could be useful. If you could upload the kodi log, it'd be much appreciated because even if there isn't an error it will still give me an idea of what is loading and what Kodi is doing directly before hand.

Also a few things to try to rule out potential issues (try these one-by-one and restart Kodi after each).

  1. Disable Seren and Plex addons then restart. If it no longer crashes then the issue is one of those.
  2. Disable PVR. If it still crashes with PVR disabled then we know it has nothing to do with PVR loading.
  3. Delete .kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.skinshortcuts while Kodi is closed and then restart (rules out skin shortcuts corruption)
  4. Delete .kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.themoviedb.helper/database while Kodi is closed and then restart (rules out TMDbH database corruption).

I really do not wish to jump in on his issue, but I have the exact same issue, it just keeps crashing. I'm using this skin in my test setup so I don't really have much installed. In my particular setup I'm using a horizontal menu and the opening menu item is Weather. As I open Kodi I get the splash screen, I see the menu for about a second and then it crashes. I'm using Kodi on a windows PC.

Here's my kodi log: https://pastebin.com/enjGV1N5

Well I tried all choices and it seems to be seren. Seren widgets seem to be the cause. If I disable, it loads skin fine and even PVR. It also, told me to download log this time.

Okay further tests. I took off seren replaced exact widgets with shadow. All loads perfectly!
