My gut says that as Gemstone (next release) now supports the new Weather
Underground (sage google weather) that not sure we should refit Diamond or
update WIcons to support different icon sets.
But I could be persuaded if the reason is good!

Either way would work. For some reason the default icon sets that are visible
on the builtin SageTV STV Online/Weather page are very low quality. It would
be nice if those icons were part of the same icons set used in the updated
weather widget in the next version.

Not sure I understand why it matters if you are using gemstone as you will
never see those icons.

Doesnt Gemstone still use the STV Main menu? As far as I know, that's how
people access the full page weather screen details and animated weather
screens; regardless if they have Gemstone or not. Those low res icons is where
they would be viewable. It wouldnt make sense to have two sets of weather
icons. Maybe I'm missing something?

We replace the default weather in gemstone and use our own code for icons.
Opus' new animated weather in the default STV isn't part of Gemstone. We may
add some animations down the road if jusjoken wants to tackle it but we use our
own weather source code and icon sets.

Closed as not a Gemstone issue as we have our own icon sets
