I will look into this but I don't believe the Windows version should/could
affect this.
Can you confirm what Java Version you were using on both setups?

I run win 7 64bit on all my clients and have never seen this.
We have had one other report that was similar with regards to the episode name
listing rather than the series name.

I don't understand which windows version should make a difference but it seems
to. On both setups I installed windows and all updates. I the install sagetv 7.
It then prompts me to install the java the same way on both installs. I took it
for granted the java was either packaged with sage or the install was linked to
the java install. I have seen the update java icon but have exited it. It
doesn't make sense but like I said I tried it 3 times installing teh exact same
way except for the version of windows. One is windows home premium 32 bit , the
other is windows 7 pro 64 bit. The java version on the 64 bit install is
1.6.0_10. The java version on the 32 bit install is 1.6.0_10 . I have attached
the 32 bit setup screenshot.

OK guys...I am using the schedules direct with slugger's mc2xml plugin. I just
now decided to remove the plugin and switch to sagetv's program guide and it
now displays the name of the show rather than the episode. I still don't know
why it worked properly with windows 7 32 bit and the mc2xml plugin with
schedules direct, but thought you should know about this. I'll bet the other
person you said reported this issue was also using the mc2xml plugin with
schedules direct.
