Large Icons on Various Recordings Screens #198

First of all, what version of Sage and Diamond are you using? (Hint: if its not 
SageTV Beta 7.1.5+ and Diamond 3.2+ you shouldn't be logging an issue)

SageTV v7.1.9.256 - Client, Diamond v3.30

This is a fresh client install after a fresh W7 install. The ONLY thing I have 
manually added to the SageTV Client is the Diamond UI Mod. I have NO OTHER 
client plugins installed.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

In the various default Recordings list screens, HD (and/or FirstRun for TV) 
Recordings display an oversized "HD" and/or "1" icon, often overlapping the 
item description. 

Strangely, the individual Movie/detail screen shows a very small HD icon but 
the TV Episode/detail screen shows the same very large HD icon.

Frankly, I would rather not have any icons...

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Not entirely sure... all I did was download the latest SageTV client for 
Windows, install it after installing W7 and doing updates. After going through 
the initial SageTV client setup, I added the Diamond UI Mod and selected 
Serenity Blue... Not sure what else to say...

Attachments show the issue.

I have combed through all the regular SageTV settings, I have not enabled 
Hidden Features, I have tried various Diamond settings, etc. but still, these 
icons show up.

Just realized that this doesn't happen on the "All Recordings" screen but it 
happens on all three of the others (Current Recordings, Archived Recordings, 
and Recorded Movies).

I disabled the Diamond Plugin and reverted to the default UI. Here are to 
screenshots to compare with:

I think we have seen this once before.  I'll poke around the diamond forums an 
see if I can find it.

They should all be small, my last fresh install has them all the correct size 
so I don't think it's a 7.1.9 issue or we'd all see it.

After looking at your screen shots the ones with large icons shouldn't actually 
be over on the right, they should all be with each recording on each line and 
only be on the right on the detail screens.

Did you try to reset the Diamond settings from the main menu pop up menu?

Re: doing a reset -- I could try that but I guess my question is, why would I 
do that if all I did was install the theme on a fresh install of SageTV client 
on a fresh install of W7?

Just in case the Diamond properties are messed up in the properties file.  At 
this point there won't be much to lose be resetting.

I'm not sure why you would say that... as I've spent some time setting it up 
already ;)

In any case, doing the reset had no effect.

After the reset, I'm now seeing the larger icon everywhere, including the All 
Recordings screen, and on the Movie Details screen though I wasn't seeing it on 
those two screens before the reset...

I'll try a fresh client reinstall tomorrow and see if it happens to me.  I just 
did a fresh install on my dev box (only Sagetv client and not W7) a couple 
weeks ago with 7.1.9 and it's all good.

Not sure where to look now so I'll send jusjoken and email ask what he thinks.  
I think Plucky is away and not sure EP is up to, we've all been busy or away.

Ah, when I turn on debug logging for Diamond, where is the log file? Is the 
main sagetv log file or a different one? I'll send a log shortly!

The main log will be fine.  The images that are not correct are part of the 
default code and not something we changed (I think).  Thanks,  J

Here's the log file, hopefully it captures what you need. I navigated to each 
of the All Recordings, TV Recordings, and Recorded Movies and was able to see 
the oversized icons in each case (mostly in the recordings details).

I know you said "I have NO OTHER client plugins installed." But the log looks 
like you have a lot of plugins loading...  If they are really there, you really 
should disable everything other than Diamond and then enable one at a time 
until you find the plugin or combo of plugins that are causing this.  There are 
a lot of odd entries in the log during the importing of some of the STVi's that 
look like there are things missing that are throwing errors like missing 
widgets, which would most likely be from two or more plugins modding the same 
areas of the STV.

I had a look at my dev system log that only had ADM enabled and it is the only 
entry in my log,

Other plugins that are disabled but installed are not loading and showing in 
the log.

Yes, the additional plugins were there by the time I grabbed the log. They were 
not there when I first reported the issue. As I stated, it was a fresh OS 
install, followed by a fresh SageTV client install and at the time I took those 
screen shots, the ONLY thing I had done was to add the theme and start using it.

Do you need a debug log with all the plugins disabled?

See if this log is any cleaner... If not, I can move this install to the side, 
do a fresh install again and only install Diamond.

I think I found the issue - goto Setup, Detailed Setup, Customize and set the 
"Show recording status marker icons in lists" to Yes.  I assume it is set to No 
as when I set it to No I also get that large HD icon on the right.

Let me know if this is the case...

That's it!  Nice catch, I guess the solution is to not set that to "no" and use 
the diamond settings to only change/hide those icons.   I don't think that any 
of us have ever set that to "no" before.
