Generalize Stack Overflow to just "Stack Exchange" sites? #82

I noticed that Stack Overflow is on the list, but maybe we could replace it with a general link/instructions for any Stack Exchange site or account? I'm not 100% sure how this works, but it's got to be similar...

Are Stack Overflow and Stack Exchange accounts the same thing?

If the link to delete your account from Stack overflow = the link to delete your account from Stack Exchange, then we could potentially merge them into one entity. However if they're different URLs, it's best to keep the entries separate.

I guess, technically, there is no "Stack Exchange" account -- each site has its own account if you go there and sign up to use it. But you can link the accounts so you have a "network profile" nonetheless.

There are over 100 Stack Exchange sites, and the process for deleting each account is the same:

... the list goes on.

So it might make more sense to consolidate this entry into Stack Exchange than have 100+ entries with the same content on justdelete.me?

We could potentially do this, however my main concern is that JDM offers links to the actual pages where you can delete your account.

So for example, if we had a block that said "Stack Exchange", what URL do we offer the user? If we use the Stack Overflow link and they only have a Superuser account, then it essentially breaks the service we're offering.

Hmmm... at www.stackexchange.com, the "meta" link goes to "Meta Stack Overflow" as if it is the "main" help site... so perhaps we could use the Meta Stack Overflow link and just rename the entry to "Stack Exchange"?

I think we should expand Stackoverflow to include the keyword for Stack Exchange on the site. We can then detail the process for removing your accounts as listed:

http://askubuntu.com/help/deleting-account http://superuser.com/help/deleting-account http://stackoverflow.com/help/deleting-account

...as you can see it's the same steps on each site. A user could update their profile / bio for their specific site and request the delete.
