OAuth Error: invalid_team_for_non_distributed_app #14

I created a Slack button as instructed in the "Slack Button" page, but when I click the button I get the error below.

OAuth Error: invalid_team_for_non_distributed_app

After activating the app for public distribution the error disappeared, and the normal OAuth 2.0 flow is initiated when I click the button.
