Migration to spacemacs configuration #1

  1. Where to put these files?
  2. Which ones are N/A given spacemacs?
  3. Any tip for where to configure spacemacs to open zsh files in sh-mode (unless there's a better mode)?
  4. http://emacswiki.org/emacs/MacKeyMode -- what's the easiest way to get spacemacs to use the option key for Meta, and save the cmd-key for mac bindings?

I'm thinking I'll want to slowly add chunks of this to my configuration for spacemacs. My goal is to put the customizations in the right place.
