not worked with macos 10.15.1 #79

have try all the things refer with #71 and #77, still not worked.

I have the same issue, and I also tried #71 #77

i went to https://www.cockos.com/licecap/ and downloaded the new version.

then i added full disk access by hand in security&privacy, then launched the app, started recording, added .gif at the end of the filename, LICECap asked for Screen Recording Access, I gave it - works.

and have set the extension as gif

Same here. I upgraded my MacOS to Catalina and LICEcap did not work even after gained the full disk access

Are you manually typing in .gif at the end of the filename? See https://github.com/justinfrankel/licecap/issues/80 for details. By doing that, it's working for me.

hi. setting "File type" to "GIF Files (*.gif)"

is not the same, as adding the .gif into the end of the filename. Please observe. You need to add .gif at the end of a filename, by hand, every time, otherwise it won't work.

Also note that if you somehow missed the opportunity to grant the permission to "Record Screen", you could still do that explicitly in Preferences / Security & Privacy / Privacy:
