Define process for creating and promoting events #1

We need to define our process for creating and promoting events on Eventbrite and our websites. As we're already talking about our process in our FB group, let's keep discussing there and we'll keep this issue updated. https://www.facebook.com/groups/322719918162974/permalink/614143639020599/

For the short term at least, I think this should be the general process -

Before the event

After the event

We'll fill out details and add to documentation shortly...

Add captured media (video, photos, audio, etc.) to the archived event

Currently we have three sites which can promote our events. Rather than having the sites display the same info, we should reduce duplication and time by centralizing all archives on whatever site/brand is producing/promoting the event. So for the current Just Jazz Concert Series I suggest the following -

I think something like that would make each site promote the same event in a unique/complimentary fashion.

Quick notes regarding the newsletters using the current campain as an example - https://us12.campaign-archive.com/?e=&u=6328071c70982efaf4a3f9a2f&id=ac68271b68

Those are just a few things that stand out compared to many other newsletters I get from venues, promoters, and producers.

Adding the help wanted tag as we really need to find someone with time/interest in taking this on. We should have a followup discussion regarding specific needs/responsibilities/compensation and post back here.

I think the event/organizer description artist images, description, links, should be self-contained in the Eventbrite listing. We could pull together a template or instructions from pages like https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articles/en_US/Multi_Group_How_To/how-to-create-an-event-using-our-new-event-creation-experience?lg=en_US and reference in this issue.

@justjazz I think we touched on it before.... what do you think about creating an Eventbrite Organizer Profile for the Just Jazz Live Concert Series and then regrouping all the Just Jazz events under that organizer? That would allow for much better branding for Just Jazz - also would be able to move this intro description for each event into the organizer description.

Wednesday Nights will never be the same as the JazzCat LeRoy Downs, Mr Musichead Art Gallery and All Music Television present the Just Jazz Live After Work Concert Series at the Mr Musichead Art Gallery on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. Come early for a Wine Reception and Art Gallery tour and stay for the music. Visit www.justjazz.tv to check out upcoming shows, artists bios and performance schedules and to buy posters, tickets and now great cusine available for purchase each week from Chef Anthony Goosby and Goosby Kitchen at The Just Jazz Live Music After Work Concert Series. Where Music & Art Meet. Every Wednesday beginning May 23, 2018. Doors open at 6pm. VIP Reserved guests receive guaranted seating and free beer and wine. Limited seating.

@justjazz The other problem with having this intro at the top of each event is there are a couple typos. https://github.com/AMTVDigital/administration/issues/7#issuecomment-466097942

It would be much cleaner if we proofed/edited and moved this intro the organizer profile description.

Even better if we could find someone to else to take on this task.

Thoughts?

Think it would be a good idea to submit the form and get this info https://www.eventbrite.com/blog/academy/2018-music-venue-management-kit/?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=sm&utm_content=Owned&utm_campaign=ebsocialmedia

@justjazz @JustJazzcat Picking up on this issue after importing another batch of events from Eventbrite. The events don't really look great because what's entered in Eventbrite is incomplete and inconsistent.

Here are some screengrabs of the following event w/ suggestions on how to improve using this event as an example - https://www.eventbrite.com/manage/events/169219063775/details
