When you say you can't get the console to work, what exactly happens?

Using PCLinuxOS desktop, I connect to phpvirtualbox main screen on remote
server.
Select and start Win7 VM on remote server.
Preview window works nicely.
So I click at Console.
Can select any screen size, and (Oracle RDP ?) Version is reported as 1.2.28
(When I do this from WinXP desktop or rdesktop, I leave Username and Password
blank.)
So click at Connect, the username, password, and desktop size boxes disappear,
but nothing else happens. No error messages. No clues.
Just to be sure, I check that PCLinuxOS can connect to remote server from cli.
$ rdesktop -a 24 -g 1024×768 address.of.remote.server
rdesktop is all good and Win7 login screen appears as expected.
Maybe I have some Firefox add-on doing some silent blocking ? I'll search for
that.
Cheers

What version of firefox and what version of flash do you have installed in it?

Linux Firefox : Version 3.6.13
Adobe Flash : You have version 10,2,152,27 installed
I think the problem is with Flash.
To be polite and politically correct, the security and reliability of Flash
technology is quite controversial.
Many others are less restrained in their criticism.
When I click at Console, and Connect, the browser just endlessly reports
"Transferring data from 192.168.0.1".

*** [SOLVED] ***
I also use Firefox Extension called FlashBlock 1.5.14.2.
It neatly replaces Flash objects with a clickable button to permit viewing only
as desired.
For some reason, the (Linux (*)) FlashBlock clickable button seems not to work
with phpvirtualbox,
BUT the very simple workaround is to add the ip address and|or domain name of
the remote server to FlashBlock's whitelist.
Now it works better than a bought one.
Much thx and cheers for all your helps.
Edit. (*) FlashBlock for Windoh's Firefox seems to play nicely with
phpvirtualbox.
