donut does not response to my own message

2. Describe the bug

Give a clear and concise description of what the bug is.

When I sent messages myself, donut does not response to them right away. At first I thought something is wrong, then I found out that, it is only until I received other messages (from other people) that my messages were received.

The longest time I have to wait over 5 minutes to get my messages.

3. To Reproduce

This part is very important: if you can not provide any reproduce steps, then the problem will be very hard to be recognized.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Run the official ding-dong-bot script
send ding to myself

Use an account that will not receive message all the time.

Receive dong right away.

5. Actual behavior

only until I received other messages (from other people) that my messages were received.
