Post the actual configuration you used and also the corresponding group entry 
from /etc/group. It is supposed 
to work.

Also, post the actual error message you got and indicate where you saw it. Ie., 
in Apache error logs and/or on 
'apachectl start' or 'apachectl -t'.

sorry, I didn't notice that the ap_gname2id cound return the GID if the first
charactor is ‘#'.

pls delete this issue.
