upscaling river network #1

Dear professor we know many global hydrological model's basic package based on PCRaster, like lisflood, community water model,pcr-globwb. actually then are based on raster calculation. the dynamic modeling coded in a class,so then can modeling different resolution raster data .one hard job for many hydrological modeler is how to prepare the model's input data.like CWATM model:https://cwatm.iiasa.ac.at/data.html#river-channel-maps .if i have high resolution DEM data like 30 m DEM data.after the pcraster delineate the flow direction and river network. how to upscaling to 0.5 degree or1/12 degree resolution river network.hope you can help me ,thank you

eventhough there has some reference but i really don't know how to using PCRaster handle it Wu, H., J. S. Kimball, N. Mantua and J. Stanford (2011). “Automated upscaling of river networks for macroscale hydrological modeling.” Water Resources Research 47(3).

What would be the advantage of upscaling the delineated streams compared to delineating the streams from a coarse DEM?

dear professor i have not try it, my friends told me maybe delineating the streams from a coarse DEM will lose the information, like the reference :Wu, H., J. S. Kimball, N. Mantua and J. Stanford (2011). “Automated upscaling of river networks for macroscale hydrological modeling.” Water Resources Research 47(3). he doesn't delineate it from coarse DEM to get 1/12 degree or1/16 degree,or0.5 degree resolution streams. actually i want to learn how to prepare the different resolution surface hydrological data like streams data to feed the global hydrological model input
