so finally i wrote the doc i promised slightly over a year ago. you shouldn't have just applied the patch, but told me that you like it and that you are waiting for the documented followup. ^^
also, you should have told me to go to github instead of manually patching in my changes. i'd have gladly rebased them myself (without adding unrelated whitespace changes in the process ;).
anyway, as i was already at it ... ^^
note that the commits are not tested beyond a compile on my eglibc linux desktop, as i don't feel like playing with my router now.
