In the future, we may want to think about actual user account creation and authentication.

It would save state, such that repeated visits would have a "signed in" status, being more convenient for users to see and manage groups
Adds security, as there will be a more sophisticated authentication system when user accounts come into play

This will help with securing our API, currently need to severely consider security if scaling up project.
