CO2 emissions and deforestation are two large contributors to the high increase in CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere. Recently cattle farmers have been using fires to clear large areas of land in the Amazon rain forest, this has lead to nearly 60-70% of the trees dying. The Amazon rain forest is the largest land mass that produces oxygen for the entire globe. In China the main source of energy is coal power plants, this only adds more CO2 to the atmosphere and it causes respiratory problems to the people living in China.

Hey Eco team! So, Dr. B announced in class on Friday how we're trying to meet up with teams to make sure everything is going smoothly for project teams. I was wondering what time next week would work the best for you? I am free most afternoons, but if you want to meet earlier on Tuesday again, I can this time. @lewisabia @jwa32 @ads171 I thought you were meeting today at noon in the downstairs Cassell computer lab...that's where I am now. I think I need to help with a merge issue--let me know where you are meeting if you're somewhere else!
