Cannot connect El Capitan to BBB with rel8 #62

This issue was previously reported and is now closed. I've read the entire posting and followed all suggestions with no resolution. I've removed any previous versions of HoRNDIS, rebooted several times, etc. I've verified that re8 final is installed. The only clue I see are the "unknown message type" lines in the log. No network adapter appears. Here is the console output, any help appreciated:

Have you made sure to turn off Internet Sharing?

Yes, internet sharing is not enabled.
