Ran across your blog and found your repo while looking for a connection between USBIP and a Mac for a diode laser cutter.
A person on a Lightburn software forum was looking for a remote USB solution for his Mac and diode laser. It so happens, I have a little portable diode laser I'll use outside every now and then and didn't want to leave my laptop out there again a few weeks ago and found USBIP. I ran usbip on an rPi connected to the diode laser and on my old MacBook Air runs Kubuntu so it worked well.
Not sure this is something I'd point a non-software person to try but wanted to say your blog( https://joshua0.dreamwidth.org/67264.html ) and efforts were appreciated.
