Perhaps this is intentional; if so, consider it a feature request! I sometimes like my Subject: to contain a verbose description.

To clarify: what makes this experience particularly unusual is that if you try to paste more than 60 characters into the Subject: field, nothing will appear at all. If the field must be limited to 60 characters, perhaps at least the first 60 characters could appear when pasted.
