Loved this!

-Great title, simple, earnest, impactful, tells me what I’m about to read.

-I’d cut most of the “this next section will be about…” and most of the intro. You can go straight to the meat without apology.

-What works here is that you did the hard part, but we can just read this post to go on the journey, and get the lessons. I lose the thread in the "Real World" section. Consider making the headings into lessons instead of hobbies, and adding chronological language so we still feel like we’re on the journey. e.g.:

-"Strong Fundamentals: In 2020, while everyone else was trading sourdough starters from six feet away, I was knee-deep in 14-hour games of Rocket League…”, -"Count the Bags of Clay: When I moved to New York, I took up pottery as a way to..." in your voice.

-I want 1 lesson/section. Bad experience to feel like I didn’t get anything new in exchange for reading more. Call backs between sections slow down my reading (e.g. “It took me two years of BJJ to appreciate the importance of strong fundamentals” in the Rocket League section.)

-Could play around with the sentence-level flow with someone you trust. But any piece of writing can be worked to death. In the end, it should still feel like Jason.

-Lots and lots of alpha here. Good stuff!

dm'd you on X.
