Hi! I hear your pain, and share it. Unfortunately, I'm really limited by what I can do on the page because the extension has to piggyback on Trello's existing HTML. Making the card-dragging smoother would mean the extension would have to process and then heavily rewrite Trello's page, and the complexity there makes this a challenge -- especially since doing so could make it so that Trello's own functionality would stop working.
My best advice: suggest to Trello that they support swimlanes natively!
I appreciate your response!
After getting deep into a very large To-Do board with Swimlanes, I discovered that rather than having to open up the Extensions page and toggle the app, I could simply click the icon on the browser shelf to toggle it on and off. Much simpler, and I've gotten used to that so that it doesn't really bug me.
I understand the reasons why you can't implement the scroll function, so I did contact Trello. Thanks, and Merry Christmas :)
Case-use: I have several swimlanes. I have a card in the top lane that I need to move to the seventh lane down.
What happens: I left-click the card to drag it around, but when I reach the bottom of the current screen it won't go further. I have to drop it in a nearby lane at the bottom of the current screen, scroll the screen downward so the card is now at the top of the screen, then repeat the process until I am able to drop the card in the correct lane.
What should happen: I left-click the card to drag it around and when I reach the bottom of the current screen, scrolling automatically occurs so that I smoothly move the card all the way down to the seventh lane without stopping.
Currently it is much easier to toggle off Swimlanes and move the card horizontally, then toggle Swimlanes back on again.
