It's untested but the code should be "about correct", I'd test on my car but I don't have ext can so controlsd wouldn't really work.

Tested by notspeedy, apparently works as expected.

I've hit a few bugs...timer appears to be inconsistent with engagement. for example, shortly after set/enable op, it may display the alerts related to timebomb. minor annoyance, especially when its the TIMEBOMB IMMINENT alert!

Yeah it does have some bugs, also sometimes openpilot still reports no steering available, but that's rare
