specifically, I'm imagining:

super granular slider to jump through micro history
normal back-forward buttons to do what current undo/redo do (threads of RenderUpdates)
thumbnails for macro history, ie: the outliers.js data currently stored silently in some private var...

probably useless to anyone but me, but....

inlined a little doodle of what i imagined history pane sliders to be, while writing src/lib/outliers.js media-20141230
