This is a project issue rather than an agg issue unfortunately.. We don't currently have any lookup tables to translate the uncontrolled values we are supplied by feeder systems into human readable text.
Deffo an issue, and one which has been raised, but not sure how we can solve it..
Any suggestions?
Not within our scope to fix at the moment. Suggest close this issue and raise the issue of constraining this field in XCRI to use a controlled vocab with JISC.
Agree that it's not within project scope to fix it. Is it within scope to advise end users on how they cope with the ramifications of it?
On the search dialogue, the qualification options are Apprenticeship/BA/BSc etc. We were unsure why, for example, MEng does not feature? What does “diploma” mean? Why no HND here? How about non-HE qualifications? When you get the search results, there is a display of “qualification level” which has values like 7 and 5. How do these levels relate to the other classification of qualifications? Could/should they be consistent? Sometimes a 7 qualification is an MA, while an 8 is an HND. Also some qualifications don't appear to have a level assigned, and it doesn't seem possible to refine a search to display just these quals.
