Copy and paste hangs #81

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select an area with the selection tool.
2. Copy and then paste it anywhere 

The image pastes correctly and the copy shows up and can be moved around. 
However, the area pasted cannot be deselected after that nor can the program be 
closed without using task manager.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Latest official (0.9) on Windows 7 64-bit.

Hi! Could you test the same operation using the latest beta? (0.9.1-beta)
