It would be very helpful to indicate if the GTFS data being used is actually outdated.

I can imagine two ways for this to be done:

Automate the GTFS fetching (for VBB e.g. from vbb-gtfs.jannisr.de) and show the time when it fetched last. You could also pick up the date from the upstream Data Package manifest and show that.
Serve the stops.txt with a Data Package manifest.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe for now I'll just point to the latest stops.txt on your server as this also comes with the data package manifest next to it? I also have an instance running at https://osm-checker-ulm.k-nut.eu, the city of Ulm does not provide data about the latest update though I think...

Let's also encourage the city of Ulm to put a manifest then! Do you know where it is hosted, or even where to open an Issue?

The data is hosted here: https://gtfs.swu.de/daten/stops.txt The SWU would probably be the people to reach out to, I think I even have a contact. Should I put you in touch?
