Feature Request: Do Not Force Authentication Just to Browse Public Gists #5

What is with forcing identification to use any and every service that is otherwise accessible without explicit authentication? I do not want Microsoft indexing each and every action I take while using VSCode to generate their ideal consumer "me" for producing and targeting subliminal and not so subliminal behavior modification stimuli (quite literally, "ads") extrapolated over maximizing all possible revenue sourced from me to as far as the foreseeable future. If LLM's will be able to do one thing really well, it will be simulating a probable majority of an individual's internal monologue--particularly if mimetic recursion can be perpetuated.

All that aside, it does not require authentication to view public gists via a browser, so wouldn't it even be just as much work to locally store favorited user's gists in a 'local/workspace subscriptions' lookup than integrating Github OAuth?

Seriously what's the deal with conforming to quantifying the accessibility of the internet behind a paywall?
