How would you feel about upstreaming some parts of this plugin, like the syntax highlighting?

If you think it's a good idea, I'm happy to do it if you're busy.

Could be interesting but I'd like it to become a bit more stable first and a bit more tested.

If you see anything that could improve the plugin towards this goal I'd be happy for your input/help!
