GWT's hosted mode browser does not allow the use of Gears on the Linux or Mac platforms #11

GWT's hosted mode browser does not allow the use of Gears on the Linux or
Mac platforms.

The expectation is that GWT's hosted mode browsers for Linux and Mac will
be updated to allow the Gears plugin to be loaded. Currently, GWT
Gears-enabled applications can only be debugged using GWT's hosted mode
browser on Windows.

This issue cannot be resolved until the GWT hosted mode browser mechanisms are
updated. The expectation is that post GWT 1.5 release will use a different
technique
(out of process hosted mode) that will make this problem go away.

The hosted mode platform will work on Mac when a Gears plugin for Safari is
released.

The hosted mode on Linux is going to be phased out in favor of Out of Process
Hosted
Mode, which will solve this issue.
