too many forks #893

every free player i've found on the store or fdroid is a fork of this. i've tried at least 10 different players...

because they all have different annoying issues!

isn't there some way to combine so many dev efforts into one less buggy player?!

Reminds me of custom roms, every shitty rom is a fork of Lineage which just a few features added (and of course, completely rebranded)

Instead of actually contributing to the project they forked and build one amazing product, these people apparently always want to do their "own thing". Kinda sad actually.

@gringofe on another thought, this doesn't show how many devs have actually actively contributed in a similar fashion, or even how many of those forks are just a relic due to github broken pull request.

i dunno. for whatever reason phonograph just feels to me like a peculiar open source filled with way more sidekicks than the usual for open source projects.

and all this makes me wonder what's the full picture, at very least.
