Thank you for this nice tool. I received a similar lathe a few days ago. Do you know what the "H" in the diagram stands for? I have some problems while figuring out how the gearing works.

Thank you. H could stand for "hub" which would probably mean the spindle or for "no gear". If you could post some pictures it would help.

I tried to set it up for the 0.5 metric pitch. It was not possible to get it working without the gears interfearing with the wrong opposing gear.

Yes, that happens sometimes, there are usually many gear combinations listed for any pitch, try a few and you'll find a passing one. Best wishes!
